Al-Faatiha
The Opening
Meccan - 6 verses
﷽
1
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١
All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,
2
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٢
the All-beneficent, the All-merciful,
3
مَـٰلِكِ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ ٣
Master of the Day of Retribution.
4
إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ٤
You [alone] do we worship, and to You [alone] do we turn for help.
5
ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ ٥
Guide us on the straight path,
6
صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ٦
the path of those whom You have blessed — such as have not incurred Your wrath, nor are astray.
