Minor Sins
- Backbiting (ghībah) – even jokingly
- Gossip (namīmah) – spreading things that cause tension
- Lying – even “small” lies or exaggerations
- Mocking or sarcastic remarks
- Swearing or using vulgar language
- Speaking harshly to parents or elders
- Interrupting people rudely
- Raising your voice in arguments
- Making fun of someone’s accent, looks, or disability
- Talking about sins proudly (“I used to party so hard…”)
- Insulting or humiliating others
- Complaining excessively or with ingratitude
- Making promises and not fulfilling them (even minor ones)
- Saying “inshaAllah” insincerely just to end a conversation
- Constantly talking without purpose or excessive idle chatter
- Saying hurtful things online or in comments
- Boasting or showing off achievements
- Name-calling, even playfully
- Pretending to know something when you don’t
- Saying “I swear by Allah” unnecessarily or casually
- Looking at non-mahrams with desire
- Watching inappropriate content (even “mild” scenes)
- Browsing social media feeds full of haram images
- Staring at people or making them uncomfortable
- Comparing your life to others through social media envy
- Watching others fall into sin and laughing or enjoying it
- Deliberately seeking out gossip or scandal
- Reading novels or stories that contain lewd or sinful material
- Watching time-wasting videos for hours while neglecting worship
- Eye-rolling at parents, teachers, or someone correcting you
- Listening to gossip, slander, or backbiting
- Listening to music with inappropriate lyrics or themes
- Eavesdropping on others’ private conversations
- Enjoying vulgar jokes, stand-up comedy with filthy content
- Ignoring Islamic advice because it’s “too preachy”
- Listening to people mock Islam or religious people and staying silent
- Taking pleasure in haram talk, even if you don’t say it
- Not listening attentively to someone in need or in distress
- Tuning out during the khutbah or Quran recitation
- Listening to people argue and enjoying the drama
Action-Based Everyday Sins
- Wasting time on phone or games without benefit
- Delaying prayers without valid reason
- Not praying Sunnah or Witr out of laziness
- Sleeping through Fajr regularly without trying to improve
- Not making up missed fasts from Ramadan
- Touching someone of the opposite gender unnecessarily
- Not lowering gaze in public or online
- Neglecting the rights of your spouse, sibling, friend
- Overeating regularly and wasting food
- Delaying debt repayment without a valid excuse
- Not seeking permission before entering someone’s space
- Not saying salaam or replying to it properly
- Wearing clothes that are too tight, sheer, or imitate immoral styles
- Laughing at sinful jokes or memes
- Driving recklessly or ignoring others’ safety
- Littering or polluting the environment
- Hoarding things you don’t use while others are in need
- Not being clean in the bathroom (istinja’) or leaving filth
- Not removing harmful objects from walkways
- Cheating slightly in online games or competitions
- Keeping items accidentally given to you (like extra change)
- Arrogance, even if subtle (“I would never do that!”)
- Thinking you’re better than others in religion
- Envying someone else’s success or blessings
- Holding grudges or refusing to forgive
- Having bad thoughts about others without cause
- Loving dunya too much or obsessing over material things
- Fearing people more than Allah (in decision-making)
- Showing off your deeds (riyā’) – even just slightly
- Being ungrateful in your heart
- Feeling jealous when someone is praised
- Expecting praise or thanks for every good deed
- Being angry with Allah’s decree (qadr)
- Trusting your own efforts more than tawakkul (reliance on Allah)
- Having sinful intentions, even if not acted on
Social/Ethical Neglect
- Being rude to customer service or wait staff
- Ignoring someone who greets you
- Looking down on less educated or poorer people
- Breaking small trusts – like using work time for personal tasks
- Speaking on behalf of others without their permission
- Not returning borrowed items
- Constantly being late to appointments or salah
- Making others feel guilty to manipulate them
- Not fulfilling promises to children
- Favoritism between children or siblings
- Abandoning family ties over petty issues
- Not helping parents with small tasks
- Making others feel less religious or excluded from Islam
- Not correcting a fellow Muslim kindly when needed
- Not responding to messages or calls without reason
- Causing misunderstandings and not clarifying them
- Laughing when someone is embarrassed or shamed
- Talking during salah in masjid or disrupting others’ prayer
- Leaving the masjid dirty or not respecting it
- Not giving sincere advice when asked
- Spreading unverified news or rumors
- Not thanking someone for their help
- Ignoring someone because they’re “boring” or quiet

Spiritual Complacency
- Delaying repentance thinking “I’ll fix up later”
- Repeating the same sin without remorse
- Not reflecting on your daily deeds or intentions
- Feeling lazy or unmotivated during worship and not trying to fix it
- Belittling minor sins – “It’s just a little thing, not a big deal”
- Judging others by outward appearance while ignoring your own flaws
- Seeking validation through likes/followers rather than Allah’s approval
- Doing good deeds only when seen by others
- Avoiding knowledge out of fear it’ll make you more accountable
- Not making du’a regularly or sincerely
