عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ ذَبِيحَةِ الصَّبِيِّ فَقَالَ إِذَا تَحَرَّكَ وَ كَانَ لَهُ خَمْسَةُ أَشْبَارٍ وَ أَطَاقَ الشَّفْرَةَوَ عَنْ ذَبِيحَةِ الْمَرْأَةِ فَقَالَ إِنْ كُنَّ نِسَاءً لَيْسَ مَعَهُنَّ رَجُلٌ فَلْتَذْبَحْ أَعْقَلُهُنَّ وَ لْتَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَيْهَا .
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad from al-Halabiy, from Hariz from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about an animal slaughtered by a child. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is acceptable if the child is intelligent, five shibr (a certain unit of measurement) in height and able to use the knife.’ About women he (the Imam) said, ‘If they are all women and no men among them, then the one most intelligent must slaughter and mention the name of Allah on the animal to be slaughtered.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْعَدَةَ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ قَالَ سُئِلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ ذَبِيحَةِ الْغُلَامِ قَالَ إِذَا قَوِيَ عَلَى الذَّبْحِ وَ كَانَ يُحْسِنُ أَنْ يَذْبَحَ وَ ذَكَرَ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا فَكُلْقَالَ وَ سُئِلَ عَنْ ذَبِيحَةِ الْمَرْأَةِ فَقَالَ إِذَا كَانَتْ مُسْلِمَةً فَذَكَرَتِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا فَكُلْ .
2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated Harun ibn Muslim from Mas’adah ibn Sadaqah who has said the following: “Once abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, was asked about the animal slaughtered by a boy. He (the Imam) said, ‘If he is strong enough, slaughters properly and mentions the name of Allah on it, you can use it for food.’ He (the Imam) was asked about women’s slaughtering. He (the Imam) said, ‘If she is Muslimah and has mentioned the name of Allah, you can use it for food.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ ذَبِيحَةِ الْغُلَامِ وَ الْمَرْأَةِ هَلْ تُؤْكَلُ فَقَالَ إِذَا كَانَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ مُسْلِمَةً وَ ذَكَرَتِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَى ذَبِيحَتِهَا حَلَّتْ ذَبِيحَتُهَا وَ كَذَلِكَ الْغُلَامُ إِذَا قَوِيَ عَلَى الذَّبِيحَةِ وَ ذَكَرَ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَيْهَا وَ ذَلِكَ إِذَا خِيفَ فَوْتُ الذَّبِيحَةِ وَ لَمْ يُوجَدْ مَنْ يَذْبَحُ غَيْرُهُمَا .

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hisham ibn Salim from Sulayman ibn Khalid who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the slaughtering by a boy and women if it can be used for food. He (the Imam) said, ‘If she is Muslimah and has mentioned the name of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, on the animal to be slaughtered, then what she has slaughtered is lawful and so also is the boy if he is strong enough, has mentioned the name of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, on the animal he has slaughtered. This is when there is fear for losing the animal to be slaughtered and there is no one else other then these people.’”

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ قَالَ سَأَلَ الْمَرْزُبَانُ الرِّضَا ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ ذَبِيحَةِ الصَّبِيِّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَبْلُغَ وَ ذَبِيحَةِ الْمَرْأَةِ فَقَالَ لَا بَأْسَ بِذَبِيحَةِ الْخَصِيِّ وَ الصَّبِيِّ وَ الْمَرْأَةِ إِذَا اضْطُرُّوا إِلَيْهِ .

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from certain persons of his people who have said the following: “Once, al-Marzuban asked al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about animal slaughtered by a child who is not mature yet, and the slaughtering by women. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful to use for food what is slaughtered by castrated people, a child and a woman if they slaughter it properly and mention the name of Allah, if they are compelled to do so in an emergency.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أُذَيْنَةَ عَنْ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ رَوَوْهُ عَنْهُمَا جَمِيعاً ( عليهما السلام ) أَنَّ ذَبِيحَةَ الْمَرْأَةِ إِذَا أَجَادَتِ الذَّبْحَ وَ سَمَّتْ فَلَا بَأْسَ بِأَكْلِهِ وَ كَذَلِكَ الْأَعْمَى إِذَا سُدِّدَ .

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from ‘Umar ibn ‘Udhaynah from more than one person who has said the following: “One of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘If a woman slaughters an animal properly and mentions the name of Allah, then it is not unlawful to use it for food and so also is slaughtering by a blind person if he is helped in what he needs.’”

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي الْبِلَادِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ ذَبِيحَةِ الْخَصِيِّ فَقَالَ لَا بَأْسَ .

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Ibrahim ibn abu al-Balad who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about an animal slaughtered by a castrated person. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful to use it for food.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ كَانَتْ لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ( عليه السلام ) جَارِيَةٌ تَذْبَحُ لَهُ إِذَا أَرَادَ .
7. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘ Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that Ali ibn al-Husayn, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, had a slave-girl who would slaughter animals if he (the Imam) wanted.”’

الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِذَا بَلَغَ الصَّبِيُّ خَمْسَةَ أَشْبَارٍ أُكِلَتْ ذَبِيحَتُهُ .
8. Al-Husayn from Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Washsha’ from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from ‘Abd al- Rahman ibn abu ‘Abd Allah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘When a child grows five Ashbar (span of the hand) it is not unlawful to use for food what he has slaughtered.’”
