عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ شَرِيفِ بْنِ سَابِقٍ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ أَبِي قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) مَنْ قَبَّلَ وَلَدَهُ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَهُ حَسَنَةً وَ مَنْ فَرَّحَهُ فَرَّحَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَ مَنْ عَلَّمَهُ الْقُرْآنَ دُعِيَ بِالْأَبَوَيْنِ فَيُكْسَيَانِ حُلَّتَيْنِ يُضِيءُ مِنْ نُورِهِمَا وُجُوهُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ .
1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from Sharif ibn Sabiq from al-Fadl ibn abu Qurrah who has said the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has stated this Hadith. ‘The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘One who kisses his son, Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, writes down for him one good deed and one who makes him happy Allah will make him happy on the Day of Judgment. One who teach him al-Quran his parents will be called on the Day of Judgment and will be then dressed with two dresses which will make the faces of the people of paradise bright because of the light shining from those dresses.’”

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ مَنْ أَبَرُّ قَالَ وَالِدَيْكَ قَالَ قَدْ مَضَيَا قَالَ بَرَّ وَلَدَكَ .
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from abu Talib in a marfu‘ manner who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that a man from al-Ansar (people of al-Madinah) once asked him (the Messenger of Allah), ‘To whom should I be kind?’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘Be kind to your parents.’ He said, ‘They have passed away.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘Be kind to your children.’”

أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَجَلِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) أَحِبُّوا الصِّبْيَانَ وَ ارْحَمُوهُمْ وَ إِذَا وَعَدْتُمُوهُمْ شَيْئاً فَفُوا لَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يَدْرُونَ إِلَّا أَنَّكُمْ تَرْزُقُونَهُمْ .
3. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from Ali ibn Faddal from ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Bajaliy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘You must love children and be kind to them. If you promise them, then keep your promise because they do not know anyone except you who provides them sustenance.’”

ابْنُ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ طَرِيفٍ عَنِ الْأَصْبَغِ بْنِ نُبَاتَةَ قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ وَلَدٌ صَبَا .
4. Ibn Faddal has narrated from abu Jamilah from Sa‘d ibn Tarif from al-Asbagh ibn Nubatah who has said the following: “’Amir al-Mu’minin, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘One who has a child, he is in love ardently.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَيَرْحَمُ الْعَبْدَ لِشِدَّةِ حُبِّهِ لِوَلَدِهِ .
5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from those whom he has mentioned who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Allah will have mercy on (His) slave because of his intense love for his children.’”

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ رِبَاطٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ رِبَاطٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) رَحِمَ اللَّهُ مَنْ أَعَانَ وَلَدَهُ عَلَى بِرِّهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ كَيْفَ يُعِينُهُ عَلَى بِرِّهِ قَالَ يَقْبَلُ مَيْسُورَهُ وَ يَتَجَاوَزُ عَنْ مَعْسُورِهِ وَ لَا يُرْهِقُهُ وَ لَا يَخْرَقُ بِهِ فَلَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَ بَيْنَ أَنْ يَصِيرَ فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ الْكُفْرِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَدْخُلَ فِي عُقُوقٍ أَوْ قَطِيعَةِ رَحِمٍثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) الْجَنَّةُ طَيِّبَةٌ طَيَّبَهَا اللَّهُ وَ طَيَّبَ رِيحَهَا يُوجَدُ رِيحُهَا مِنْ مَسِيرَةِ أَلْفَيْ عَامٍ وَ لَا يَجِدُ رِيحَ الْجَنَّةِ عَاقٌّ وَ لَا قَاطِعُ رَحِمٍ وَ لَا مُرْخِي الْإِزَارِ خُيَلَاءَ .
6. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Mahbub servant from Ali ibn al-Hassan ibn Ribat from Yunus ibn Ribat who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Allah grants mercy to one who supports his children in virtuous deeds.’ He (the narrator) has said that he then asked, ‘How does he support him in virtuous deeds.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘He accepts what he can do and bypasses what is difficult for him. He does not impose on him what is beyond his ability; between him and the limits of disbelief there is no more than entering in disobedience and cutting off the good relations among relatives.’ He (the Imam) then said that the Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Paradise is pleasant. Allah has made it pleasant as well as its fragrance which reaches a distance of two thousand years but one who is disobedient to parents, one who has cut off good relations with relatives and one who displays haughtiness and arrogance cannot find and sense the fragrance of paradise.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بُنْدَارَ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عِدَّةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يُوسُفَ الْأَزْدِيِّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فَقَالَ مَا قَبَّلْتُ صَبِيّاً قَطُّ فَلَمَّا وَلَّى قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ هَذَا رَجُلٌ عِنْدِي أَنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ .
7. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar has narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘ Abd Allah from A number of our people have narrated from al- Hassan ibn Ali ibn Yusuf al-Azdiy from a man who has said the following: “He (the Imam), ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that once a man came to the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and said, ‘I have never kissed a child.’ When he left, the Messenger of Allah said, ‘This man to me is one of the people of hellfire.’”

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ كُلَيْبٍ الصَّيْدَاوِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ لِي أَبُو الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) إِذَا وَعَدْتُمُ الصِّبْيَانَ فَفُوا لَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَ أَنَّكُمُ الَّذِينَ تَرْزُقُونَهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَيْسَ يَغْضَبُ لِشَيْءٍ كَغَضَبِهِ لِلنِّسَاءِ وَ الصِّبْيَانِ .
8. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Kulayb al-Saydawiy who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, once said to me, ‘When you promise children something, then you must keep your promise because they see you as the only one who provides them sustenance. Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, does not become as angrier as He does for women and children.’”

أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ ذَرِيحٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ الْوَلَدُ فِتْنَةٌ .
9. Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan from Dharih who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘A child is a trial (mischief, attraction).”’
