Impure Dirhams (Certain Silver or Gold Coins)

1- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فِي إِنْفَاقِ الدَّرَاهِمِ الْمَحْمُولِ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ إِذَا كَانَ الْغَالِبُ عَلَيْهَا الْفِضَّةَ فَلا بَأْسَ.
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hammad ibn ‘Uthman from ‘Umar Yazid who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about spending dirhams with impurities. He (the Imam) said, ‘If the amount of silver is overwhelming in it, it is not unlawful. 5 ”

2- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رِئَابٍ قَالَ لا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلا عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) الرَّجُلُ يَعْمَلُ الدَّرَاهِمَ يَحْمِلُ عَلَيْهَا النُّحَاسَ أَوْ غَيْرَهُ ثُمَّ يَبِيعُهَا فَقَالَ إِذَا كَانَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ ذَلِكَ فَلا بَأْسَ.
2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from ibn Ri’ab who has that I know this Hadith through Muhammad ibn Muslim only who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a man who worked with dirhams that had copper in them or such other things and he then sold them. He (the Imam) said, ‘If that is what is among people then it is not harmful.’”

3- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ جَمِيلٍ عَنْ حَرِيزِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ سِجِسْتَانَ فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنِ الدَّرَاهِمِ الْمَحْمُولِ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ لا بَأْسَ إِذَا كَانَ جَوَازاً لِمِصْرٍ.
3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from those who narrated to him from Jamil from Hariz ibn ‘Abd Allah who has said the following: “I once was with abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, when a people from Sajistan came to him (the Imam) and asked about dirham with impurities. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful if they currently are in circulation in a city.’”

4- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْبَرْقِيِّ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَنِ الدَّرَاهِمِ الْمَحْمُولِ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ إِذَا أَنْفَقْتَ مَا يَجُوزُ بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الْبَلَدِ فَلا بَأْسَ وَإِنْ أَنْفَقْتَ مَا لا يَجُوزُ بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الْبَلَدِ فَلا.
4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Barqiy from al-Fadl ibn al-‘Abbas who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about dirhams with impurities. He (the Imam) said, ‘If you spend what is permissible to spend among people in a city, it is not unlawful; but if you spend what is not lawful to spend among the people of a land, then it is not permissible.’”
