The Place Where the Person Performing Salah (Prayer) for a DeadBody Stands

1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ فَلاَ يَقُومُ فِي وَسَطِهَا وَيَكُونُ مِمَّا يَلِي صَدْرَهَا وَإِذَا صَلَّى عَلَى الرَّجُلِ فَلْيَقُمْ فِي وَسَطِهِ.
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ’Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah from certain persons of our people who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin) ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘When performing Salah (prayer) for a deceased woman one does not stand next to her midsection. Instead; one stands next to her chest, but when performing Salah (prayer) for a deceased man, one stands next to his midsection.”’

2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى الْمَرْأَةِ فَقُمْ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهَا وَإِذَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ فَقُمْ عِنْدَ صَدْرِهِ.
2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn abu Nasr from Musa ibn Bakr who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘When performing Salah (prayer) for a deceased woman you must stand up next to her head and for a man stand up next to his midsection.’”
