Punishment of eating mud
1
1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ahmad b. Muhammad from Ali b. al-Hakam from Ismail b. al-Muftari from his grandfather Ziyad b. Abi Ziyad from Abi Ja’far (a.s.) who said: “A person who eats mud may suffer from white spots and piles. A number of diseases affect him and the strength of his legs continues to reduce. The good deeds performed before eating mud will be rejected and his accounting of good deeds will be from those which are performed after this act. He will receive a lot of punishment as a result.”

2. And from the previous chain from Ali b. al-Hakam from Ismail b. Muhammad from his grandfather Ziyad from Abi Ja’far (a.s.) who said: “Most of the evil thoughts are due to eating mud. Surely, eating mud causes many diseases. It makes a person ill soon and the strength present before no longer remains in the body. Good deeds performed by him earlier are deducted. Deeds performed by him during his weakness and strength will be accounted for and he will be involved in chastisement.”
