Reward of thanking Allah for food and for that thing which is not granted

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی بْنِ الْمُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ یَحْیَی عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِی عُمَیْرٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: الطَّاعِمُ الشَّاکِرُ لَهُ أَجْرُ الصَّائِمِ الْمُحْتَسِبِ وَ الْمُعَافَی الشَّاکِرُ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِ الْمُبْتَلَی الصَّابِرِ.
1. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakil who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Yahya from Muhammad b. Ahmad from al-Abbas b. Ma’ruf from Musa b. al-Qasim from Ibn Abi ’Umayr from some of his companions from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “One who thanks Allah after having food is like a person who has fasted. One who thanks Allah for a thing which He has not granted him, he will get the reward of patient ones.”
