Reward of reciting Surah Waqiya

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِدْرِیسَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِیلَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ أَبِی بَصِیرٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: مَنْ قَرَأَ فِی کُلِّ لَیْلَهِ جُمُعَهٍ الْوَاقِعَهَ أَحَبَّهُ اللَّهُ وَ أَحَبَّهُ إِلَی النَّاسِ أَجْمَعِینَ وَ لَمْ یَرَ فِی الدُّنْیَا بُؤْساً أَبَداً وَ لَا فَقْراً وَ لَا فَاقَهً وَ لَا آفَهً مِنْ آفَاتِ الدُّنْیَا وَ کَانَ مِنْ رُفَقَاءِ أَمِیرِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع وَ هَذِهِ السُّورَهُ لِأَمِیرِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع خَاصَّهً لَا یَشْرَکُهُ فِیهَا أَحَدٌ.
1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Ahmad b. Idris who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ahmad who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ahmad from Ismail b. Mihran from al-Hassan b. Ali from his father from Abi Basir from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “One who recites Surah Waqiya every Friday eve, Allah would love him and create his love in the hearts of the people. He would keep that person away from misfortune, poverty, helplessness and calamities of the world. That person will be among the companions of Amirul Momineen (a.s.). This Surah is completely related to Amirul Momineen (a.s.) only and no one else.”

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ یَحْیَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَمْزَهَ قَالَ قَالَ الصَّادِقُ ع مَنِ اشْتَاقَ إِلَی الْجَنَّهِ وَ إِلَی صِفَتِهَا فَلْیَقْرَأِ الْوَاقِعَهَ وَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ یَنْظُرَ إِلَی صِفَهِ النَّارِ فَلْیَقْرَأْ سَجْدَهَ لُقْمَانَ.
2. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) says, “One who wants to know about Paradise should recite Surah Waqiya and one who wants to know about Hell should recite Surah Luqman.”

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ زَیْدٍ الشَّحَّامِ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: مَنْ قَرَأَ الْوَاقِعَهَ کُلَّ لَیْلَهٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ یَنَامَ لَقِیَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ وَجْهُهُ کَالْقَمَرِ لَیْلَهَ الْبَدْرِ.
3. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan al-Saffar from al-Abbas from Hamad from ’Amru from Zayd al-Shaham from Abi Ja’far (a.s.) who said: One who recites Waqiya every night before going to sleep would meet Allah while his face would be like the moon on a full moon night.
