أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَیْنِ عَنْ عَلِیِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ طَلْحَهَ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص الصَّائِمُ فِی عِبَادَهِ اللَّهِ وَ إِنْ کَانَ نَائِماً عَلَی فِرَاشِهِ مَا لَمْ یَغْتَبْ مُسْلِماً.
1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates from his predecessors that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “A fasting person is considered to be in worship of Allah even though he may be asleep on his bed; but if he does not backbites a Muslim.”

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِیِّ عَنِ الْیَعْقُوبِیِّ عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ عِیسَی عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ آبَائِهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص نَوْمُ الصَّائِمِ عِبَادَهٌ وَ نَفَسُهُ تَسْبِیحٌ.
2. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates from his predecessors that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “The sleep of a fasting person is like worship and his breath is like glorification of Allah.”

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی بْنِ الْمُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ یَحْیَی عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ الرَّازِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی مُحَمَّدٍ الرَّازِیِّ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِیمَ بْنِ سَمَّاکٍ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: نَوْمُ الصَّائِمِ عِبَادَهٌ وَ صَمْتُهُ تَسْبِیحٌ وَ عَمَلُهُ مُتَقَبَّلٌ وَ دُعَاؤُهُ مُسْتَجَابٌ.
3. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakil who said it was narrated to us by Muhammad b. Yahya from Muhammad b. Ahmad from Muhammad b. Ahmad al-Razi from Abi Muhammad al-Razi from Ibrahim b. Sammak from al-Hussain b. Ahmad from his father from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “The sleep of a fasting person is worship, his silence like the glorification of Allah, his deeds are accepted and his wishes, fulfilled.”

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِیِّ بْنِ مَاجِیلَوَیْهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَمِّی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِی الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ سَعِیدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَهَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنِ الصَّادِقِ ع قَالَ: خُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَفْضَلُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رَائِحَهِ الْمِسْکِ.
4. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ali b. Majluwayh who said it was narrated to me by my uncle Muhammad b. Abi al-Qasim from Ahmad b. Abi Abdillah from al-Hussain b. Sa’eed from Fadhalah from Abdillah b. Sinan from al-Sadiq (a.s.) who said: “The smell of the mouth (breath) of a fasting person is dearer to Allah than the fragrance of musk.”

حَدَّثَنِی أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الرَّازِیُّ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِیدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ صَدَقَهَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْأَوَّلُ ع قِیلُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ یُطْعِمُ الصَّائِمَ وَ یَسْقِیهِ فِی مَنَامِهِ.
5. Imam Musa Kadhim (a.s.) says, “Take a nap in forenoon; for Allah provides food and water to the fasting person in his sleep.”
