The Reward for the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) on Any Day Other than an Eid and the Day of ‘Arafah

1 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ بَشِيرٍ الدَّهَّانِ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) أَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ زَارَ الْحُسَيْنَ (ع) عَارِفاً بِحَقِّهِ فِي غَيْرِ عِيدٍ وَ لَا عَرَفَةَ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ عِشْرِينَ حِجَّةً وَ عِشْرِينَ عُمْرَةً مَبْرُورَاتٍ مُتَقَبَّلَاتٍ وَ عِشْرِينَ غَزْوَةً مَعَ نَبِيٍّ مُرْسَلٍ أَوْ إِمَامٍ عَدْلٍ

Muḥammad ibn Ja’far narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Muḥammad ibn Ismā’īl, from Sāliḥ ibn ‘Uqbah, from Bashīr Al-Dahhān, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Allāh will register twenty purified and accepted Hajj and ‘Umrah and the reward of (fighting in) twenty battles with one of Allāh’s messengers or with a Just Imam for any believer who goes to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) knowing his rights on any day other than an Eid and the Day of ‘Arafah. The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: My father, from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Muḥammad ibn Ismā’īl ibn Bazī’, from Sāliḥ ibn ‘Uqbah, from Bashīr Al-Dahhān, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).

2 وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ مَا أَدْنَى مَا لِزَائِرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فَقَالَ لِي يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَدْنَى مَا يَكُونُ لَهُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَحْفَظُهُ فِي نَفْسِهِ وَ مَالِهِ حَتَّى يَرُدَّهُ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ فَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ كَانَ اللَّهُ الْحَافِظَ لَهُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ره عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ عَنْ صَالِحٍ مِثْلَ حَدِيثِهِ الْأَوَّلِ فِي الْبَابِ
2. Muḥammad ibn Ja’far narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain, from Muḥammad ibn Sāliḥ, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Hilāl, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “May I sacrifice myself for you! What is the minimum reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.)?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “O ‘Abdallāh! Verily the minimum (reward) for them is that Allāh will protect them and their possessions until they return to their families, and on the Day of Judgment, Allāh (Himself) will be their protector.”

3 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ره عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ عَنِ الْعَمْرَكِيِّ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْبُوفَكِيِّ عَنْ صَنْدَلٍ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ مَنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ الْبَتَّةَ وَ لَمْ يَخْرُجْ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَ فِي نَفْسِهِ حَسْرَةٌ مِنْهَا وَ كَانَ مَسْكَنُهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مَعَ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ (ع) ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا دَاوُدُ مَنْ لَا يَسُرُّهُ أَنْ يَكُونَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ جَارَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) قُلْتُ مَنْ لَا أَفْلَحَ

My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, (and) from Aḥmad ibn Idrīs, from ‘Amraki ibn ‘Ali Al-Būfaki, from Sandal, from Dāwūd ibn (Abī) Yazīd, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Allāh will surely forgive those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) every week. They will not leave this life with any sorrows about it and they will dwell with Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) in Paradise. O Dāwūd! Who does not like to be the neighbour of Ḥusain (a.s.) in Paradise?!!! I replied, “(Only) those who have not achieved salvation.”

4 وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ عَنِ الْعَمْرَكِيِّ عَنْ صَنْدَلٍ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) مَا لِمَنْ زَارَ الْحُسَيْنَ (ع) فِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ مِنَ الثَّوَابِ قَالَ لَهُ [مِنَ الثَّوَابِ] ثَوَابُ مِائَةِ أَلْفِ شَهِيدٍ مِثْلَ شُهَدَاءِ بَدْرٍ
4. My father narrated to me from Aḥmad ibn Idrīs, from ‘Amraki, from Sandal, from Dāwūd ibn Farqad, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “What is the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) every month?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “They will earn the reward of one hundred thousand martyrs like the martyrs of (the Battle of) Badr.”

5 وَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ صَنْدَلٍ عَنْ أَبِي الصَّبَّاحِ الْكِنَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ إِذَا كَانَ لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ فِيها يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ نَادَى مُنَادٍ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ مِنْ بُطْنَانِ الْعَرْشِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ غَفَرَ لِمَنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ
5. My father narrated to me from Aḥmad ibn Idrīs, from ‘Amraki, from Sandal, from Abil Sabbāḥ Al-Kināni, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: On the night of Qadr, “wherein every affair of wisdom is made distinct” (44:4), a caller will call out from inside the Throne, “Verily Allāh has forgiven everyone who has come to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) on this night.”

6 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْعَطَّارِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ بَشِيرٍ الدَّهَّانِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) رُبَّمَا فَاتَنِي الْحَجُّ فَأُعَرِّفُ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) قَالَ أَحْسَنْتَ يَا بَشِيرُ أَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ أَتَى قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) عَارِفاً بِحَقِّهِ فِي غَيْرِ يَوْمِ عِيدٍ وَ لَا عَرَفَةَ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ عِشْرِينَ حِجَّةً وَ عِشْرِينَ عُمْرَةً مَبْرُورَاتٍ مُتَقَبَّلَاتٍ وَ عِشْرِينَ غَزْوَةً مَعَ نَبِيٍّ مُرْسَلٍ أَوْ إِمَامٍ عَدْلٍ وَ مَنْ أَتَاهُ فِي يَوْمِ عِيدٍ وَ ذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِطُولِهِ

Muḥammad ibn Ya’qūb narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā Al-‘Aťťār, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Muḥammad ibn Ismā’īl ibn Bazī’, from Sāliḥ ibn ‘Uqbah, from Bshīr Al-Dahhān, who said: I said to Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “Sometimes I miss (the opportunity to go to) Hajj so I go and spend the Day of ‘Arafah next to the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) instead.” Imam (a.s.) said: Well done, O Bashīr! Verily Allāh will register twenty purified and accepted Hajj and ‘Umrah and the reward of (fighting in) twenty battles with one of Allāh’s messengers or with a Just Imam for any believer who goes to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) knowing his rights on any day other than an Eid and the Day of ‘Arafah. Anyone who goes to him (Ḥusain) on an Eid day…
