I asked, “How did the heavens weep?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “The heavens became red for forty days at the time of sunrise and sunset.” I asked, “Is that how the heavens weep?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Yes.”

Why do I see you so depressed, saddened, and grieved?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “If you could hear that which I hear, you would have been distracted from asking me this question.” I asked, “What do you hear?” Imam (a.s.) replied: (I hear the voice of) the angels beseeching Allāh, the Great and Almighty, to curse the killers of the Commander of the Believers and the killers of Ḥusain (a.s.). And (I hear the voice of) lamentation of the Jinn and the intense restlessness and weeping of the angels who are around him (Imam Ḥusain (a.s.)). So who can enjoy food, drink, or sleeping after hearing these voices?!
