5-67 (The compiler of the book narrated) that his father - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Sa’ad ibn Abdullah quoted on the authority of Ahmad ibn Aba Abdullah Al-Barqy, on the authority of Ali ibn Muhammad al-Qasani, on the authority of Abi Ayoob al-Madini, on the authority of Suleiman ibn Ja’far al-Ja’fari, on the authority of Al-Ridha (MGB), on the authority of his forefathers (MGB), on the authority of Ali (MGB) that God’s Prophet (MGB) admonished against killing the following five: (fasting) shrikes , hoopoes, bees, ants, and frogs, and ordered to kill the following five: crows, kites , snakes, scorpions, and mordacious dogs.The compiler of the book said, “This is a form of permission and not an obligation.”
