40. And with the former chain of narration from ‘Ali ibn Mahzyar, from Ibn Abi Umayr, from Hisham, from Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, who said: Amirul Mu’mineen, ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him, used to say to the people at Kufa: ’O people of Kufa, do you think I am not aware of what can mend your ways? But I hate to redress your situation by corrupting myself!"
